"Iowa County Area Economic Development has been key to helping me start my new business in Iowa County. This support has led to my being able to open a new restaurant in downtown Dodgeville, now employing 28 people.
The options Rick Terrien helped provide my new business were instrumental in this process. Dodgeville and Iowa County are now benefiting from the results of those efforts."

"I am writing to strongly support the Iowa County Area Economic Development Corporation and Rick Terrien as ICAEDC Director. Rick and the ICAEDC have been instrumental in helping Hodan Center develop the business operations for our Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen. These services have helped us grow employment numbers for our client-employees at the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen from just a few to well over 30 today. We feel this number will continue to rise with Rick's help.
Rick has supplied effective business planning to our facility. He helped us organize and promote a very effective launch and continues to supply many needed business services to our programs at the kitchen. Rick also provides much needed business counseling to the many entrepreneurs utilizing our services. These entrepreneurs come from all parts of Iowa County and the region. Rick and the Iowa County Economic Development Corporation have provided important business development services to Hodan Center's Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen. These services have helped produce valuable results for our entrepreneurs as well as the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen."

"Rick Terrien and the Iowa County EDC have been a valuable resource in helping the Village of Barneveld develop our new Business Park. Rick met with us early in the process and provided valuable information, marketing and publicity for the project. Rick also brought representatives from MG&E and Alliant Energy to Barneveld. This was a great value to us because we were able to get the Business Park on both company websites, which let companies know that we have land available to develop. Without Rick I would not have been able to make these contacts. As Village President, I often called Rick for continuing updates and information about economic development news and opportunities. This was a great value to me and the Village of Barneveld.
The Village of Barneveld has supported the EDC from before its inception. I believe Rick and the EDC provide a valuable service to Iowa County and our region."
Michael D. Peterson, Barneveld Village President 2001-2013
Over 2,000 people attended the second annual Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship. The event was hosted by the Iowa County Area Economic Development Corp. "My favorite part was seeing all the people who came to Iowa County for the first time", Rick Terrien, Executive Director of the ICAEDC said. "I love this". After the event, businesses were busy and restaurants were full, Terrien said.
It's great letting people know about the amenities and the values of living and working in Iowa County", Terrien said.

"As we prepared to launch a new business in an entirely new market sector, the assistance provided by Rick Terrien and the entire crew at the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen provided answers to some of our toughest questions and has enabled Acala Farms to see significant growth in its first nine months of operation. The order fulfillment and shipping services provided by WINK are just the stepping off point for us; we have plans to add other products that we hope can be processed and bottled at the Kitchen and have had discussions about moving our entire oil bottling operation there.
Iowa County has so much business potential and the EDC is integral to realizing that potential. "

"I was on the committee that organized the ICAEDC and assisted in hiring Rick Terrien as its first Executive Director. As a long-standing entrepreneur and small business owner in Iowa County, I am enthusiastic about the work Rick and the EDC have produced in the short time since its inception. Rick has raised the profile of Iowa County all over the country, highlighting our business opportunities in presentations, interviews, on the internet and in papers that he has published. This is a direct benefit to businesses in Iowa County.
Rick and the EDC provide valuable services to the small business community of Iowa County. I personally have utilized Rick's expertise and guidance several times for launching several of my new businesses. While I think the efforts may often go unnoticed, Rick and the EDC are an extremely valuable resource for businesses in Iowa County, and will continue to be in the future."

"We are bringing new revenues and increasing employment in Iowa County because of the great services provided by the Iowa County EDC and Rick Terrien.
Rick and the EDC helped me plan, launch and grow my business. Rick provided valuable business advice as well as marketing services and links to Iowa County suppliers of farm produce, as well as other products and services from the area.
Rick and the EDC have provided excellent business consultation to my firm and another growing food company I have partnered with. These services contributed significantly to our recent decision to move all the food processing and production for our combined businesses to Iowa County and the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen.
Rick and the Iowa County EDC are valuable partners who are creating important business opportunities in Iowa County. The model Rick and the EDC are building will induce businesses all over the country to do business in Iowa County, WI."

"I have worked with Rick Terrien and the EDC for many years as a high school business and marketing teacher. I teach a course in Entrepreneurship and each year Rick has been a guest speaker and has provided a tour of the Innovation Kitchen to my students. The EDC is a great resource for our communities to encourage Entrepreneurship with our young people and local community members."
Sue Reukauf, Dodgeville High School
"Because of my contact with Rick Terrien and the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen, I was able to connect my very first year as a grower with a food entreprenuer and processor who bought all of my squash for $650.00. Coincidentally, this food entreprenuer was also named Minority Business of the Year in 2011 by our Governor.
The following year (2012) I expanded my garden plot to 60' x 130'. I harvested approximately 3,500 lbs of squash from this plot. Once again, through the contacts of Rick Terrien and the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen, I sold all of my squash to another food entrepreneur for approximately $2,300.00, increasing my profits nearly 4-fold. Without the ICAEDC, I would not have had this opportunity for economic growth. I believe other entrepreneurs in our county deserve the same opportunities. Please continue to support the programs of the ICAEDC."
