About The Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen

The Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen is a state inspected food processing facility in Mineral Point, WI, owned by the Hodan Center. Food processed in a state inspected kitchen can be sold commercially in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen has created a program to make this facility accessible to the community through Partnership Programs designed to celebrate local foods, food entrepreneurs and local food processing. The Preparation Partners program enables Innovation Kitchen staff to custom process your recipes on a contract basis. The Processing Partners program enables you to process your own recipes on a rental basis. The Purchasing Partner programs enables you to purchase food ingredients and packaging materials to use in processing at the Innovation Kitchen or your own facility. Event Marketing partners can utilize the Innovation Kitchen to produce local foods events that educate, entertain and amaze.

The mission of the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen is to help new and existing farmers and food entrepreneurs develop and grow exciting food businesses that showcase the benefits of local foods.

The goals of the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen are:

1. Design and build a local food processing and marketing infrastructure that creates profitable business opportunities for area farmers and food entrepreneurs.

2. Highlight our area as a premier region for learning about and celebrating local foods, sustainable agriculture and the arts.

3. Support the mission of the Hodan Center.

Grand Opening of the Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen is July 11, 2010. 11 AM to 4 PM

The Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen will be a 10,000 square foot facility. This includes a 3,000 square foot retail space for and 7,000 square feet devoted to kitchens and food storage.

The Hodan Center's Pappa Pat's Farmhouse Recipes line of foods will be produced on site. Because many of the goods and services needed by outside processors will be available through the Hodan Center, many costs for food entrepreneurs will be lowered. Services can include custom processing, labeling, packaging, storage and shipping as well as bulk purchasing of supplies.

There will be four separate kitchen areas where three different processors can work at the same time.
